Subject: A SURPRISE!!!

Dear Leaders,

I am sure you are well aware that tomorrow marks the beginning of the Year for Priests, as declared by our Pope Benedict.  It is also the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Saturday, the Immaculate Heart of Mary. You probably already know that next Wednesday (6/24) Father Tighe will be celebrating the ninth anniversary of his ordination. In light of all this, and the fact that we're starting out on our "New Church" journey, some of us thought a special commemorative event was in order.

This is what has been planned, AND IT IS A SURPRISE FOR FATHER TIGHE, so please spread the word by mouth, by email, and by any other means to let everyone you know, EXCEPT FATHER TIGHE.

June 23rd, next Tuesday evening at 8:45 PM, we will ALL gather at the church. Bring candles, light sticks, flashlights. We will then walk to the Rectory where we will surprise Father with a little song "Happy Anniversary to You", a little prayer on our knees, a whole lot of well wishing (you can make posters if you like) and all this will be accomplished under the flickering lights of our candles and blessings from the Holy Spirit. I hope you are as excited about this as I am.  We will have a banner commemorating the Year for Priests that will be later hung in the church.

The Deacon and Connie Mangum know this plan.   Right now, it looks like Father's schedule is free for Tuesday, all day and night, but things change and he is our extremely busy Pastor!  The Deacon has my phone number and will call me if anything comes up, but in the meantime, we're going ahead with the plan and hoping and praying that it will be a night Father Tighe will always remember and treasure in his heart.

You may forward this email to whomever you wish, but especially to the Hourly Coordinators and adorers. I thank you all for being so special and I thank God for putting us all on the same path at the time. Your company and friendship are my treasure.
