Worthy Grand Knight,
My niece emailed this afternoon regarding my brother Jim:
“Dad is out of surgery. Dr said there were no surprises, surgery went well. Thanks to God and all of you for the prayers. Next few days will be tough on dad, I’ll update as progress etc.”
Thanks to all for the wonderful notes, thoughts and prayers.  Let the healing begin!  God is good, all the time…

Hi Mike,
Here’s a pro-life opportunity we can share with the council.
Rich mentioned this at Truth on Saturday.

What: 40 Days for Life (September 25 – November 3) is a peaceful and educational presence.  Those who are called to stand witness during this 40-day vigil send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion.  It also serves as a call to repentance for those who work at the abortion center and those who patronize the facility.  It has helped save countless lives.  See the bulletin for more information or visit https://www.40daysforlife.com/Raleigh.
When:  10-11am Saturday, October 12, 2019 – men from our parish plan to meet and pray together during this hour.
Where:  Meet at the St. Catherine’s school parking lot by 9am if you want to carpool else meet 10am at the public right-of-way outside A Women’s Choice, 3305 Drake Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
Please contact Rich Schwarz if you have any questions (rjschwarz2@yahoo.com)

2020 KofC NC State Council Raffle – $25 gift card (NEW!)

Sunday, October 6th, 2019

Worthy Brothers,

Raffle ticket season is now open! Tickets are $5 each and $2.50 of each
ticket sold comes back to our council to support our charitable
activities. This is a great way to raise funds for both the state and our
council.

First prize is $5000 cash, second prize is $4000 cash, 3rd/4th prize is
$500 cash each, 5th/6th prize is $400 cash each and 7th prize is $200
cash. Ticket sales go through March 2020 and the drawing is May 2, 2020.

* NEW this year -* we are offering a *$25 gift card* to one lucky winner
at our April business meeting – see below for details.

We’ve split up the roster based on member last names to spread the load
across the co-chairs but feel free to get your tickets from any co-chair.
Thanks to Mike and Brien for stepping up! *Please contact a co-chair to
get your tickets:*

– * Member last names A-G: Mike Pughes (mike.pughes@gmail.com
<mike.pughes@gmail.com>)*
– * Member last names H-P: Brien McGuire (hemlockmac@msn.com
<hemlockmac@msn.com>)*
– * Member last names Q-Z: Dave Rogers (drogers1030@gmail.com
<drogers1030@gmail.com>)*

*A couple changes for this year:*
1. We will deposit checks from raffle ticket sales more frequently to
ensure timely clearing of checks.
2. As mentioned above, in order to encourage ticket sales we are offering
a $25 gift card to one lucky winner at our April 2020 business meeting.
From all the tickets sold by our council we will randomly select one
ticket. If the buyer of that ticket is a brother Knight from our council
they will win the gift card. If the buyer is not a Knight from our council
then the seller listed on the ticket will win the gift card – if the seller
field is blank on the ticket then the raffle co-chair who distributed the
ticket will win the gift card. You do not need to be present at the April
business meeting to win.

Vivat Jesus!
