Fish Fry – This Friday

Monday, March 25th, 2019

Brothers,
A great big thank you to all who came out to help during our first fish fry on the 15th.  Things went very well and most everyone I spoke to had a good time and was pleased with the event.
Our second fish fry is scheduled for this Friday.  Come on out and join us, even if you only have an hour or two to help. Time slots are shown in the link below.
I’m also looking for someone to help out with the Station of the Cross 7:00 pm, right after we finish serving.  If you are available to help, please let me know.

He is still receiving antibiotics and he appears to have his cough back.

Hank was able to join us yesterday for the KOC Assembly patient luncheon at the VA Hospital. It was good to get him out of his room for awhile.

At this time he doesn’t know when he will be discharged and is still doing through physical therapy to strengthen his muscles. It must be working as he indicated he could feel muscles he didn’t remember having.

I’ll see him again next Wednesday and afterwards will send another update.

Jacket Left Behind Last Night

Saturday, March 16th, 2019

Brothers,
We found a blue Eddie Bauer jacket that someone left behind last night out near the cookers.  Let me know if it’s yours and I will get it back to you.

I visited with Hank yesterday.

He has been moved to Rehab at the VA Hospital in Durham. He hopes to be going home in April.
His spirits are good and he has a positive attitude.

We discussed visitors and phone calls, at this time he wishes to continue resting with no visitors or phone calls. He is still getting antibiotics via an IV. He is also receiving physical therapy throughout the day which tires him.

He is learning to walk again as his leg muscles need to strengthen. He has been given a rollator walker as
he is more comfortable using it when he walks.

I will visit him next Wednesday and afterwards provide another update.

If anyone has questions I will try to answer them for you.

Upcoming Events: March Business Meeting/Fish Fry

Thursday, March 14th, 2019

Worthy Brothers,

Please accept my apologies, there were a few mistakes that I missed when reviewing the February minutes.  Original minutes stated that Terry Maher attended 2nd-degree exemplification and Jack Ford attended his 3rd. Minutes should have stated that Terry and Jack both attended their 2nd and 3rd-degree exemplifications.
Additionally, under dates to remember, the convention dates were given as 6/26-6/28.  The correct dates are 4/26-4/28.
The updated minutes are attached.

Worthy Brothers,

A reminder that our business meeting is scheduled for this coming Thursday at 7:30 pm in the dining room. The Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm.  The Trustees will be presenting the first reading of a resolution for a donation to the parish school, so please attend if you are able. The minutes from the February meeting are attached.
Our first Lenten fish fry will be held this Friday.  If you didn’t get a chance to sign up to help out, feel free to stop by and join in on the fun starting at 3:00 pm.
In addition, I would like to offer my congratulations to our newest Sir Knight, Jack Ford, who received his 4th-degree on Feb 16th in Greensboro.  Jack attended his 2nd, 3rd and 4th-degree exemplifications during the months of January and February.  There is no required waiting period between degrees, so if you are interested in attending you next exemplification, please contact our Membership Director, Matt Stein at membershipdirector@kofc11234.org

Canopies for Fish Fry

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

Brothers,
It looks like there is a chance for rain on Friday right around the time of the fish fry.  I’m hoping to find someone who has a canopy or two that we can borrow to cover the cookers.  Please let me know if you are able to help out.
Thanks and God bless,
