Worthy Brothers,
The Comfort Committee needs some assistance with a funeral this Thursday, the 25th. Some of the regular helpers are sidelined and cannot be there to help . Set-up is in the gym at 9:00 am and tear-down is at 3:00 pm.
Please respond to Melanie Diehl at mdiehl@nc.rr.com if you can help out at either time.
Thanks and God Bless!
Vivat Jesus!

First, thank you all for everything you to do serve our families in their time of grief. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Betty Horky, a 40+ year parishioner at St Catherine. I knew Betty from the stone chapel days!
The family has requested a luncheon for 150 (min) on Thursday, Oct 25th. There will be a minimum of 150 people, as the Horky family is well-known and loved at St Catherines. The funeral is at 11, but with so many people attending, I expect the meal to start between 12:15 -12:30.
IT’S IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE AS MANY HANDS ON DECK FOR THURSDAY AS POSSIBLE.
Some of the foods items are already claimed by some of the ladies who helped with today’s reception. Please indicate if you’re able to contribute any of the items we still need. Planner here
MORE THAN ANYTHING, WE NEED BODIES TO HELP SET UP, SERVE AND CLEAN UP. Many hands make light work, and we appreciate anything you can do to help, even if for just an hour!
The detailsDave Moyer and I worked on the logistics this morning. We agreed on a layout, and he has recruited some teens to help move tables and chairs into the gym on Wed evening. They will need to be adjusted, table cloths & centerpieces set in place, etc.
Dave will light the top oven to keep the pastas warm.
Meatballs and sauce will be in the fridge and on the counter ready to be heated in crockpots (4 crockpots in total, I believe)
Salad will need prepped (chop tomatoes and cucumbers, prep salad dressing, etc)
Desserts will need cut and placed on serving dishes
Drinks/beverage station will need prepped
Blessed Virgin will need placed in her usual place of honor.
And more, I’m sure.
Helpers please plan to arrive between 9-10 am–Kitchen help and muscle help 😊
I don’t know what I’m forgetting, but I’m sure you’ll let me know!
Thanks so much for all you do.
